PMP (Project Management Professional) is a globally recognized certification for project managers, demonstrating knowledge, experience, and expertise in project management best practices.
Eligibility depends on your education and project management experience:
- With a 4-year degree: 36 months leading projects + 35 hours of project management education
- Without a 4-year degree: 60 months leading projects + 35 hours of project management education
The PMP exam has 180 multiple-choice questions, covering 3 domains: People (42%), Process (50%), and Business Environment (8%). You have 230 minutes to complete the exam.
Effective preparation includes:
- Studying the PMBOK Guide and Agile Practice Guide
- Practicing with mock exams and quizzes
- Joining study groups or online courses
- Reviewing PMP formulas and key concepts
The PMP certification is valid for 3 years. To maintain your certification, you need to earn 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) every 3 years and submit them to PMI.
